Grandpa Takes Maternity Leave

When Christopher was born, he was the first grandchild. Grandpa being a realtor was able to work at home and switch floor time. He was home all the time. If you were sleeping, he would lean over your crib and whisper "Wake up little Christopher - Grandpa wants to play." Grandpa was a big man at 6'2" and 250lbs but as soon as he heard you he ran like there was a fire into your room so he could pick you up. I went back to work when you were eight weeks old. I can't tell you how many I would get to the babysitters house and she'd tell me "Oh your dad picked him up around 1." Sometimes it was as early as 10:00 after the MLS meeting. I remember asking him one time "How does your boss feel about you taking maternity leave?" Grandpa just didn't want to miss anything. Sometimes he would take you to the office with him. I think if he could have he would have taken you everywhere.
