Another couple we met shortly after moving to AR is Debra and Rocky. They were big rig truck drivers and on the road alot. When they did come into town they always called and invited us over to visit, eat, or go fishing. Debra is home now but Rocky is still on the road. And yes, after 14 years we are still friends.
In 1999 they traveled to Corona alot and was always saying if you ever want to go to CA we'll take you on the truck. Well one time Rocky said they were going to Corona if the boys wanted to go. So I called Betty and Andy and my sister and made arrangements for the trip. Being last minute I didn't have extra money to give them and Debra told me she understood and not to worry they would treat the boys like their own. And off they went.
They were in the truck three days going, spent four weeks between Betty and Andy's and my sisters house. The boys even got to go to Mammoth with my sister, her husband, and my niece. Then back on the truck for three days to come home.
I worried when they came home they would want to go back to CA for good. When I asked Christopher "you know, it was nice being in CA but it sure is good to be home." Brendan didn't quite understand why we couldn't move the house to CA. He was seven, does his vote count?
