First Train Ride

There was a little cafe not to far from the house where we would go get a drink and visit. Right behind the place was a railroad track. The train would stop there for snacks becuse it was close to the lumber yard where they had pick ups/deliveries. That's where Christopher fell in love with the trains.
One day as the train was coming Christopher heard it and ran outside. As the guys walked toward the cafe Christopher asked if he could look at the train. They said "Sure the engineer is still on there." Christopher told me that the engineer explained things on the train and let him sit in the engineer's chair. When the guys came back they offered to take Christopher to the lumber yard. A whole 200 yards up the track. Christopher even got to blow the whistle. Once finished they backed up to drop him off.
I'll never forget the look on Christopher's face as he was getting off the train. He turned back and waved to the guys as they left. I could tell he was on cloud nine. Whenever those guys came back they would ask about Christopher and the cafe owner would call us and we would go down there so Christopher could talk to them.
