Grandpa, my father, played Santa Claus for the Realtor Care and Share program for years. For a picture with Santa Claus you had to bring a canned good. He really loved playing Santa and working with the children.
As my father watched television he would change the channel when the commercials came on switching to another program until another commercial. Back in the day, you could avoid commercials all night. One night I noticed as he was switching channels he was only watching the commercials. Back and forth from commercial to commercial. After asking him why he was only watching the commercials he replied "Last year a child asked Santa for a toy and I had no idea what it was. That will not happen to me again."
We always knew it was the Christmas season when all that was on television was commercial. lol Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
He took his role seriously... that makes the best Santas and people. :)
